PROJECT SCOPE

SGH Civil Engineering & Surfacing Contractors have completed several framework and concrete projects alongside water. One of the most notable of which was South Street Pumping Station. For this project, EPCG were required to dam off the water source, pump out, create a concrete base, create a timber formwork and weld steel mesh to the existing piles prior to pumping concrete to a height of 3 metres. This was completed over two separate 1.5m high pours. In addition, we carried out all other associated works as per scheme drawings. EPCG were also required to manage the water level and ensure the site was maintained at all times. The works were delivered within low land at Owston Ferry, which is primarily farmland. The area needed to be managed safely, both in terms of foot traffic and ensuring access to the farmland and public footpath.
