PROJECT SCOPE
SGH Civil Engineering & Surfacing Contractors have completed this prestigious project on behalf of Doncaster Council. The project comprised of installing pile sheets to stabilise the bank, create timber formwork, pour the concrete capping beam and finish with Tobermore paving. Alongside this we completed other associated works such as backfilling with topsoil, asphalt to the footpaths/carpark and managed the water level throughout. All the above tasks were completed as per scheme drawings. The works were delivered at Sandall Park, which is an often-frequented beauty spot within the heart of Doncaster so stakeholder buy-in was essential throughout.
ADDED VALUE
The introduction of the new pile sheets and capping beam will produce long-term benefits for the Council. The ability to introduce a more stable bank edge and further increase the usage of the whole park means that the Council saved on future maintenance costs and minimised the risk of accidents.
