SGH Civils and Surfacing – Bentley Natural Flood Management Scheme 👏

Our team completed a range of enabling works to get the site up and running, including vegetation clearance with a tree surgeon gang and tracked wood chipper, with arisings reused across site to support the scheme’s environmental goals.

As part of the main works, we carried out excavation of new ditch runs using an 8-ton excavator, 6-ton dumper and experienced banksman. Excavated materials were either stockpiled and removed off site to a licensed facility or used on site as bunding to prevent unauthorised access to this site and neighbouring fields, maintaining full environmental compliance throughout.

Throughout these works, we worked closely alongside an ecologist to ensure all wildlife and habitats were protected, maintaining full compliance with environmental requirements.

SGH also supplied and installed CCTV systems to protect the site, alongside the installation of Heras fence panels to maintain site security.

We further supported an archaeological dig with plant, operator and a first aid trained banksman, ensuring works were carried out safely and efficiently.

Another great example of delivering sustainable infrastructure with a focus on safety, quality, and environmental responsibility.
