Let’s explore the key moments in our history that led to where we are today as a trusted partner for civil engineering and surfacing services across Yorkshire and the UK.
1996
Westmoreland Civil Engineering
The SGH story begins in January 1996. At this time, we were known as Westmoreland - a proudly family-run business with a shared passion for civil engineering works.
2020
sgh surfacing
In April 2020, we expanded our capabilities to include surfacing works and formed the Eco Power Surfacing company, today known as SGH Surfacing.
2021
New beginnings
The company was shaped by the new appointment of our Managing Director, Shaun Hardisty. At this time, we also stepped away from the Westmoreland brand.
2023
Concrete production
We purchased a concrete volumetric lorry. This was a huge addition to our existing fleet, enabling us to produce our own concrete and more effectively deliver our services.
2026
Further expansion
As we welcomed in our 30th year in the industry, we became proudly known as SGH Civil Engineering and Surfacing. We also purchased a full new fleet of vehicles to support our development.
