PROJECT SCOPE

SGH Civils and Surfacing successfully delivered essential restoration works to River Dearne Bridge in Harlington on behalf of Doncaster Council, following significant fire damage.

Our team carefully removed the existing timber deck to enable structural repairs, carrying out targeted refurbishment of fire damaged steel elements to restore the bridge’s integrity. We then installed a new GRP deck system, including bearers and stringers, along with a new timber parapet to enhance safety for all users.

All works were delivered from a bespoke scaffold system designed in house by the team at SGH, ensuring the project was completed safely and efficiently.

A great outcome, bringing this important structure back into safe use for the local community.
